Presiding Elder

The Northwest Alabama Conference was organized in 2009. The Birmingham-Florence-Tuscaloosa District became one of the PE Districts of the new Conference. The BFTD is made of twenty-six churches in the following counties: Lauderdale, Colbert, Morgan, Walker, Jefferson and Tuscaloosa Counties. The churches are located in urban, inner-city, small towns and rural communities. All worship every Sunday.

The Presiding Elder Dwight E. Dillard, Sr., has served on the BFTD since 2009. The first and only Presiding Elder appointed to serve the District.

Following the dynamic leadership of Bishop Julius Harrison McAllister, Jr., and Episcopal Supervisor Deana Young McAllister. The thirtieth Bishop to be assigned to African Methodist Episcopal work in Alabama.
